Next year it’ s a wrap. The IMO Tier III regulations come into force for all vessels under 500gt, over 24m and those that will have had their keel laying after 1st January 2021. For vessels undergoing a refit, the regulation will also apply when an engine is replaced by a new one. All vessels that fit into the above categories must comply with controlled emission levels of NOx. Vessels over 500gt already had to comply with these regulations since 2016. To meet the TIER III rules, the installation of an SCR or Selective Catalytic Reduction system is required. Together with our SCR partner we offer small custom built combined units containing the mixing device, SCR blocks and silencer in the best fit layout.
